nearly 500 Flock Safety license plate reader cameras operate across san francisco, logging every passing vehicle and building a searchable record of where residents drive, park, worship, protest, and seek medical care. in june 2026 SFPD disclosed that the NCRIC fusion center improperly queried the city's ALPR network roughly 300 times for federal and out of state agencies, and a pending class action alleges ICE, CBP, the FBI, and ATF searched SFPD's data over 1.6 million times in seven months. that violates california's ALPR privacy act and our sanctuary obligations. other california cities have already canceled their ALPR contracts. your supervisor can act, and hearing from constituents is what moves them.
